Alarm Lock PG21 Door Alarms

Sept. 27, 2018

Amityville, NY - Napco Security Technologies, Inc., Alarm Lock Division finds increased popularity of its door alarms for facilities faced with security vulnerability from doors propped open, for innocent and even felonious reasons in schools, nursing homes, restaurants, stores and theaters. Whether door-propping occurs for quick returns from taking “smoke” breaks, or later returns, even to permit insider-jobs; or to allow unregistered visitors or contraband to circumvent main security entry points, it remains a problem for facility managers and security officers that Alarm Lock is quickly and inexpensively solving with its PG21 Advanced Door Alarm Series.

Across the country, these surface-mount, narrow stile microprocessor-controlled door alarms are being used to quickly improve security at any single or double door with their sweeping 95db alarm, entry delay-, key-removal- and auto-shutdown/reset options. Originally designed as a pilfer alarm, i.e., so retail merchandise didn’t slip through the back door/emergency exit unnoticed, today, they are being used to plug-up the vulnerability in security so many schools, campuses and facilities face due to doors unwittingly left ajar. One of PG21’s unique points of difference is that you don’t have to leave the key inside the door alarm. The PG21 has two arming modes, standard mode or "always armed" mode, plus it enables multiple door monitoring with built-in external reed switch; has three entry delay options; as well as selectable minute-shutdown, auto reset and exit/entry delays too.

Flexible PG21 Door Alarms are easy-to-install, tamper-supervised, and optionally controlled from outside for exterior key control at a building’s perimeter, e.g., as in guard tours, with an optional Rim cylinder. For security in power outages and such, it has a relay option to allow for continuous power (using an external power supply). Available in Metallic Bronze or Silver models, there’s also an additional model, with bright strobe on top, that lights brightly on alarm, and can be easily seen across any room or expanse for pinpointing the door at issue.
