New Precision Hardware 2110VI Exit Device Includes Intruder Function with Visual Indicators

Exit devices that have intruder function now are easier to use. The new Precision Hardware Apex 2110VI Series from dormakaba is a code-compliant safe egress, with visual and directional indicators for faster and more-efficient security lockdown, designed for high-occupancy areas, including classrooms, auditoriums or gymnasiums.

This panic device incorporates the ANSI “10” function, also referred to as the “Intruder Function,” with new lock/unlock status. A directional indicator is integrated into the housing and contains reflective materials that may be seen in low-light conditions. It also features an embossed directional indicator that delivers quarter-turn (90 degrees) activation to enable faster lockdown.

“The ‘Intruder Function’ enables the ability to lock the exterior exit device lever handle on the outside of the respective door from the interior side without the need for opening the door,” says Michael McCoy, product manager. “As demand for the ANSI ‘10’ function for exit devices has grown, so has the desire for lock/unlock verification. By providing this on the Apex 2110VI, users can quickly determine if the outside lever is locked or unlocked. They don’t have to open the door to verify, which would place personnel and students at greater risk.”

A directional indicator feature provides the user a clear and concise understanding of what direction to rotate the key or thumbturn for lock and unlock of the outside lever. The Apex 2110VI directional indicator is embossed within the assembly, eliminating labels that can peel or fade.

The Apex 2110VI Series is ideal for high-traffic, harsh environments and includes:
