LAKE FOREST, CALIF.,—Jan. 24, 2017— Baldwin® Hardware, a leading brand of the Hardware & Home Improvement (HHI) division of Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:SPB), announces Baldwin Evolved as a recipient of the CES 2017 Editors’ Choice Award. By leveraging Kevo technology and offering an easy Bluetooth touch-to-open solution, Baldwin Evolved stood out in the Smart Home category for being the first smart lock that looks as good as your home.
The CES 2017 Reviewed.com Editors’ Choice Award team of experts scoured the show floor at CES, looking for the very best tech that consumers will want to buy in 2017. Out of hundreds of entries, Baldwin Evolved was judged and selected based on four criteria: innovation, design, core technology, and value.
“Securing this prestigious award while at CES solidifies the need in the marketplace for a beautifully designed, luxurious Baldwin handleset that is technologically advanced,” said Kevin Bean, director of marketing for Baldwin Hardware. “Our industrial design team has been working tirelessly to ensure the design of Evolved meets the highest standards of Baldwin customers, while also offering a technological solution they have been requesting.”
Baldwin Evolved delivers an electronic solution in 18 handleset styles and three deadbolts, which are designed to exceed the luxurious architectural standards of Baldwin customers. Customers can choose from 18 Baldwin finishes for customizable style.
Baldwin Evolved allows users to easily open and close doors via their smartphone and the Kevo mobile app, which runs in the background so there is no need to open the app to enter the home. By downloading the app, users can easily issue “ekeys” for access as well as monitor who is locking and unlocking doors; with the addition of the advanced gateway technology to remotely unlock your doors from anywhere.
Baldwin Evolved has a streamlined design that easily conceals the technology in a smart, sleek interior design that is 60 percent smaller than other electronic products on the market. Evolved features subtle LED lights to communicate elegantly with users. It also features a self-aligning brass bolt for easy operation and is water resistant to ensure moisture won’t affect the technology.
With military grade PKI encryption, Evolved meets the highest security standards. It features “inside/out” technology, which means it understands whether the user is inside or outside of the home to prevent any unauthorized access. Users are able to easily share, manage and schedule eKeys from their smartphone, allowing family members, friends or guests to sync their own phones to the same lock. And the Kevo app allows the homeowner to easily track everyone who is coming and going with real-time access history.
