MorphoAccess VP Named Best New Product
MorphoAccess VP from MorphoTrak Inc. took the top honor at the Security Industry Association's 2012 New Product Showcase (NPS), winning the coveted Best New Product Award at the NPS awards ceremony at ISC West 2012.
MorphoAccess VP is a physical access control reader that integrates multimodal finger vein and fingerprint biometric technology into a single sensor and device, thus reducing installation costs, while increasing security levels. The following is the product description as submitted by MorphoAccess.
“MorphoAccess® VP is a physical access control reader integrating multimodal finger vein and fingerprint biometric technology into a single sensor and device, thus reducing installation costs, while increasing security levels. Suitable for authentication or identification, these readers dramatically increase security when compared with traditional 2 and 3 factor solutions - finger vein/fingerprint multimodality to physical access control systems. Using Morpho's #1 ranked NIST algorithms; this multimodal technology guarantees unrivalled levels of security, accuracy and performance as compared with single mode biometric devices. Morpho's readers are PoE and Wi-Fi capable and FBI PIV-IQS and IP65 certified.”
The Siqura BC620WDR from TKH Security Solutions took the Judges' Choice Award, which is given for the product or service that, in the opinion of the judges, deserves recognition for its unique approach to a security solution. The Siqura BC620WDR is a network box camera that provides superior performance and wide dynamic range under all lighting conditions.
"The NPS program recognizes products that meet a previously unmet need, and judges saw that in MorphoTrak Inc.'s MorphoAccess VP," said SIA NPS Chair Jennifer Martin of Pixim. "It's this kind of innovation that exemplifies what the New Product Showcase is all about."
"The Siqura BC620WDR from TKH Security Solutions, which won the Judges Choice Award, is a great example of bringing innovation to the marketplace," Martin added.

Kaba Wireless Access Control Goes “Plug and Play”
With “Plug and Play” as the standard for configuring computer systems, Kaba Access Control now offers a similar-in-concept installation option for its E-Plex® Wireless Access Control System. The simple, easy-to-install USB Option connects a single PC computer to a ZigBee Gateway for wireless communication between a central workstation and up to 100 E-Plex Locks. This straightforward installation option does not require any wires, conduit runs, access panels, or network drops, making it a convenient way to implement wireless access control without a great deal of expense or hassle. The Wireless System can also be scaled up to 10,000 locks with a TCP/IP connection.
“Kaba’s E-Plex Wireless Access Control System is a very flexible and scalable solution for managing access points. In addition to its variety of hardware options and credential choices, the system offers configuration options to accommodate virtually any site’s requirements. The most basic selection is the USB Option, which allows users to plug a Gateway directly into a PC for data transmission from E-Plex Locks to the computer’s server. One simple connection provides users real-time functionality of events, access to emergency commands, and visual indicators of the system’s performance,” said Rick Shuford, CRL and Kaba’s product trainer.
The E-Plex Wireless System is supported exclusively through a Certified Dealer Network. For more information, contact a Kaba Sales Representative, Certified Wireless Dealer, visit http://www.kabaaccess.com or contact Customer Service at 800.849.8324.
