E-Plex® 2000 with PowerStar™

April 20, 2011

Kaba Access Control's  new generation of self-powered electronic access control — the E-Plex® 2000 Series with PowerStar™ technology — is now available for shipment. The patented PowerStar™ technology charges the lock with each turn of the lever, eliminating the need to buy or replace batteries. Additionally, there is no wiring to, or through, the door. To operate the lock, simply turn the lever to power up the electronics, and then enter avalid access code. Turn the lever again to gain access.
Because there are no batteries to replace that would eventually end up in landfills, the E-Plex® 2000 Series with PowerStar™ technology is a “greener” choice than other electronic options. In addition, the lock is fully RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant, meaning that it is free of toxic metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium, etc.
The E-Plex® 2000 with PowerStar™ is available in Cylindrical, Mortise and Exit trim(s). Up to 100 user codes can be enrolled into the lock at any given time. Other programmable features include, passage, lockout, tamper shutdown, and service codes. Information: www.kabaaccess.com.
