The G150 controller reads Guardian II user keys and determines whether to allow or deny access to each user. If authorized, the G150 controller activates a timed relay contact that powers an electric strike, magnetic lock, gate motor, or other lock mechanism. This is typically used to unlock a door, open a gate, etc. The access criteria for each controller are configured using the Guardian II software and are uploaded to the controller using a Guardian II admin key. The G150 controller also stores an extensive audit trail (around 1500 events on average), recording who gained access and who tried to gain access and when. The logged data is easily downloaded from the G150 controller using a Guardian II export key and can be viewed using the Guardian II software. The non-networked, stand-alone design of the G150 controller means that there are no network or communication cables required. Information is transferred to and from the controllers using electronic memory keys. With the Guardian II system, you will never need to carry a laptop or PDA to a controller.
The G150 controller features a brushed stainless steel faceplate and is made to mount in a 2-inch metal door frame. It is powered by 9-12 volts (DC or AC) and it provides a Form C, SPDT relay output. The G150 controller utilizes a bi-color LED and a buzzer for conveying controller status.
