Paxton Tech Tour Receives 4.9 Stars Top Rating

GREENVILLE, SCSecurity installers across the United States have attended Paxton’s Tech Tour during September. The events have received exceptional feedback from security professionals, with a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars.

Allegion Acquires SOSS Door Hardware

Allegion plc, through one of its subsidiaries, has acquired SOSS Door Hardware.

A manufacturer of premium hinges and door hardware, SOSS primarily sells its solutions in North American non-residential markets. Founded in 1903, the company invented the concealed hinge; today, its signature SOSS Invisible Hinge as well as fire-rated, heavy-duty, and other specialty hinges are popular across industrial, commercial, and institutional spaces.

SOSS will report to the Allegion Americas segment, led by Allegion Senior Vice President Dave Ilardi.

“SOSS is a pioneer with more than a century of manufacturing high-quality safety and security products, just like other leading Allegion brands,” Ilardi said. “SOSS solutions complement our Ives, Glynn-Johnson, and Zero International door hardware, allowing us to specify and supply a broader portfolio to our customers and ultimately growing this core part of our business.”

Centrios Makes Canadian Debut

2024 SIA Women in Security Forum Scholarship winners

The Security Industry Association (SIA) has named eight recipients for the 2024 SIA Women in Security Forum (WISF) Scholarship, a program developed by the SIA Women in Security Forum to further educational opportunities and promote advancement for the widest spectrum of people possible in the security industry.

In the 2024 scholarship program, open to employees of SIA member companies and SIA student members, each honoree will be awarded $7,500 to use toward continuing education and professional development courses, conferences or webinars, SIA program offerings, repayment of student loan debt, and/or other education or academic pursuits.

“Now in its fifth year, the Women in Security Forum Scholarship program continues to attract highly qualified and ambitious applicants who embody the successful future of the security industry,” said Martha Entwistle, senior manager, corporate communications at Eagle Eye Networks and co-chair of the WISF AmplifiHER Subcommittee. “We are thrilled to award generous scholarships to eight outstanding individuals and look forward to the contributions they will make to the security industry in the coming years.”
