Locksmiths are often busy managing their day-to-day operations, leaving little time to focus on business growth. But growing a business takes more than hard work — it requires the right tools and strategies.
In today’s high-tech world, reaching new customers demands more than just skill; it requires a robust online presence, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and a website that works hard for you. But even the best digital marketing strategy can leave locksmiths wondering, “What else can I do to bring in more customers?”
That’s where The Locksmith Agency steps in. Well-known for its 1-800-Unlocks and Fair Trade Locksmiths networks — generating 1,000 to 2,000 free monthly leads for participating locksmiths — The Locksmith Agency has launched its newest innovation: the Locksmith Agency Dashboard.
This free, browser-based tool connects locksmiths to jobs, products, and business resources while simplifying operations, making it easier than ever to grow your business.
Created and designed by locksmiths for locksmiths, the Dashboard is the brainchild of Samuel Wilson, a licensed locksmith in Richmond, Virginia, and founder of The Locksmith Agency. It gives locksmiths access to jobs, tools, and resources in a streamlined interface—all at no cost.
“The main benefit is that it’s a free-to-use dashboard,” Wilson explained. “We sub-contract jobs out to locksmiths, which is something they are already used to doing if they work with Bass Security or Locknet or any number of other national service providers.”
The Dashboard offers locksmiths a simple process for securing and completing jobs:
- Find Opportunities: Potential jobs are listed as leads with basic details so locksmiths can select the ones that match their services.
- Accept and Manage Jobs: Once a lead is accepted, it becomes a job. Locksmiths gain access to detailed work orders, customer information, and the maximum amount that can be charged without additional approval.
- Track and Complete Work: Through the Dashboard, locksmiths can update job statuses, upload photos, and document key details for their records.
- Get Paid Fast: After completing a job, locksmiths submit an invoice directly through the interface and receive payment quickly from The Locksmith Agency.
“Potential jobs are first listed as leads, with some basic information so that locksmiths can click on jobs that match up to their services,” Wilson explained. “The locksmiths can then track and document the job, adding notes, such as status or scheduling updates.”
“Through this browser-based interface, they’ll submit an invoice to The Locksmith Agency, which will pay them for the job,” he added.
The Dashboard has already delivered measurable results. In November 2024, one locksmith earned $10,000 using the platform. While this is an outlier, most locksmiths typically earn several hundred to a few thousand dollars monthly—and those numbers are expected to grow as the program expands.
The Dashboard is more than a job portal—it’s a comprehensive tool for business growth:
- Automated Job Alerts: Locksmiths receive real-time notifications.
- Business Insights: Gain access to analytics that help drive smarter decisions.
- Marketing Support: Locksmiths can take advantage of free website analysis and actionable suggestions to improve their online presence.
Additionally, The Locksmith Agency offers products like Lockly smart locks and professional marketing services such as SEO, website design, hosting, and Google Maps optimization.
1-800-Unlocks and Fair Trade Locksmiths
Complimentary to the jobs that The Locksmith Agency provides and pays locksmiths directly for, the 1-800-Unlocks and Fair Trade Locksmiths platforms connect locksmiths directly with customers. Leads generated by these websites are free to participating locksmiths, who handle scheduling, pricing, and payment themselves. However, spots are limited to ensure that each locksmith has the most jobs possible.
“If they’re getting a job from 1-800-Unlocks or Fair Trade Locksmiths, those are going to be organic leads to them,” Wilson explained. “That’s their customer. We don’t take anything, which is really unique for the industry.”
Building a Network of Excellence
The Locksmith Agency takes great care in selecting locksmiths for its Dashboard and networks. Licensing, insurance, reputation, and professionalism are all part of the vetting process.
Wilson and Hirsch estimate that about 250 locksmiths are participating so far, spread across the country. Some markets may have several locksmiths offering a particular service, but additional locksmiths are needed in most areas.
Hirsch stressed that the company is looking for qualified locksmiths who want to grow their business and who offer professional services at a fair price.
“We reach out to every locksmith company before we publish and approve them. We want to talk to them,” said Vice President Jeremy Hirsch. “We’re also looking at other factors, including their online reputation and membership in locksmith associations. Then they are required to sign a professional guidelines agreement in their terms of service.”
“It’s in our interest to align ourselves with the best possible locksmiths in any given market,” Wilson emphasized. “Locksmiths can be removed if they are found to be acting unprofessionally or doing sub-par work.”
The Locksmith Agency Dashboard is your opportunity to grow your business with zero risk and no upfront cost. Whether you’re looking for more job opportunities, tools to streamline your operations, or resources to improve your online presence, the Dashboard delivers.
