IDN Sponsors Education Room at New ALOA Training Center

Nov. 24, 2015

IDN, Inc., a leading distributor of security hardware and solutions, has collaborat-ed with Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) to enhance the Aaron M. Fish Security Training Center. The dedication of the Aaron M. Fish Security Training Center at the ALOA headquarters in Dallas, Texas was held on Thursday, November 12, 2015.

Through the partnership, IDN designed the IDN Training Room with nostalgic lock hardware and key machine photographs, which were part of the Jerry and Al Hoffman collection. The products depict the history of the locksmith industry including products patented back to 1896. Key machines in the photographs include Sim-plex, HPC, Jensen¹s LockCraft, Keil, and Corbin Cabinet, among others. Products in the photographs include a violin padlock, a lock which was once used on a castle, a lock decoder, lock picks, metal skeleton key plate, a padlock in the shape of a horseshoe, and other unique padlocks and keys. The history of the industry is apparent as you look through the photographs in the room, almost having a mu-seum-like affect, bringing many memories as time stands still for only a moment.

ALOA has certified over 4,000 locksmiths nationwide with an additional 2,900 who are presently in the early stages of certification. ALOA offers a Proficiency Regis-tration Program (PRP), which is the international standard for professional certifi-cation in the field of physical security.
