Yale's inTouch™ has been recognized by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies as a 2009 GOOD DESIGN Award winner.
Yale’s inTouch™ combines a capacitive touchscreen display with a cylindrical lockset to redesign the industry’s concept of stand-alone locking devices. Unlike other stand-alone keypad devices, there are no buttons to push. Instead, inTouch features a digital display that awakens when touched. Programming and day-to-day use of the lock is simplified with an interactive, voice-guided system.
“Its new sleek design with the touchscreen modernizes the existing keypad lock category,” commented Gary Agans, brand and product manager at Yale. “InTouch brings cell phone chic to the lock industry.”
inTouch is ideal for healthcare facilities, offices, retail establishments, government facilities, or any application that requires stand-alone access control. Powered by 4 AA batteries, inTouch remains in sleep mode until it is awakened by a human touch on the screen, thus conserving energy.
