ABUS USA released its latest padlock, the Silver Rock 5/50, designed to take job-site protection to the next level. Construction sites use job boxes to store materials, tools and heavy equipment, often using laminate padlocks that easily rust and damage. With its solid zinc body, the Silver Rock 5/50 withstands outdoor elements and provides a paracentric keyway that protects against tampering.
Construction site theft is an industry-wide challenge that's costly. In addition to the cost of replacing materials, there is an indirect cost of increased insurance premiums, rentals to replace stolen equipment and lost productivity. The Silver Rock 5/50 has a precision five-pin cylinder and paracentric key cuts that safeguard the lock from being broken into easily.
“It’s common to use laminate-style locks for job-site boxes,” says Lance Endsley, ABUS USA regional sales manager – West. “However, they tend to quickly corrode and need to be regularly replaced due to damage. The Silver Rock 5/50 has a solid body that protects the lock from easily corroding and offers a precision cylinder. These features allow users to have confidence their work materials will stay secure with this durable lock.”
The Silver Rock 5/50 is available in keyed-different or keyed-alike versions, allowing job-site box users to service the same key across multiple Silver Rock 5/50 locks. The hardened steel shackle comes with NANO PROTECT coating for increased protection against rust.
