Schlage Primus XP

Jan. 4, 2016

The Schlage® Primus XP is a pick-resistant, dual locking mechanism designed to increase security by reducing unauthorized key duplication.

The Primus XP’s dual locking mechanism consists of a conventional pin tumbler and a Primus XP pin system that requires a specific side bit milled Primus Key to operate the lock. Patented side bit milling provides precise alignment of five finger pins at a side bar in the cylinder. This unique side bitting makes unauthorized duplication virtually impossible and can be used to create geographically exclusive keys in more than one thousand combinations.

Primus XP cylinders are available with an optional UL437 listing. UL437 listed cylinders feature additional hardened steel drill pins certifying the cylinder is pick and drill resistant, and is also able to withstand extreme physical damage.

Through recent innovations, Primus XP is now compatible with Everest 29 or Classic key systems, which allows simplified upgrades to a higher-security cylinder.
