884 Decryptor Mini Makes Car Key Cloning Easy

Nov. 2, 2015
New cloning tool works through and is powered by your PC or Android device, offering Keyline USA’s full range of cloning capabilities in a small package

Prior to the introduction of automotive electronic security systems, locksmiths were able to use their experience and knowledge to duplicate car keys while armed with only a few key different automotive key blanks and a key duplication machine.  That era is long gone, as transponder security has been added to almost every new vehicle on sale today.

Transponder-equipped vehicle keys require two procedures. The first procedure is duplication of the key cuts.  The second procedure is to program the transponder contained in the new duplicate key.  Transponder technology has undergone many changes during the last 25 years making it sometimes difficult for locksmiths to know exactly what programming equipment to purchase and what key blanks to stock.

Keyline USA has taken the mystery out of programming transponder keys with their new 884 Decryptor Mini .   A free Keyline USA catalog titled "Product Guide 2015" is available from your local locksmith distributor. This 64-page catalog lists all popular cars by year, make and model plus it lists the proper Keyline transponder to use.  Keyline has developed a TK100 transponder which can be used for cloning the majority of transponder systems sold in North America. Older fixed code types such as PT5 transponders used by GM can also be cloned.  Most Fixed code, Texas Crypto, first and second generation Philips Crypto and Megamos Crypto can be cloned.   There are exceptions where certain car models, years or types of original transponders cannot be programmed but the 884 Decryptor Mini by Keyline USA can easily clone the vast majority of transponder-equipped vehicles sold on the North American market.

The 884 Decryptor Mini can be operated by either an Android tablet or phone which is equipped with USB-OTG or a Personal Computer (PC) which has an internet connection. Windows 7 or higher is required.  An included wire connects from the cloner to a USB port on the PC. If a tablet or phone is used, an adaptor wire is included for connecting to the micro USB port on the phone or tablet.

A free Keyline app can be downloaded from the internet.  First, connect the wire between the 884 cloner and the PC, phone or tablet.  Source www.keyline-USA.com and select the 884 Decryptor Mini page.  Click on 'download' and follow directions for installing on your PC.  If you are using an Android phone or tablet, then go to the Google Play store and search "keyline.". Select 'Install' to download the free app.  An installation wizard will guide you through the installation process. The final procedure is to register your new 884 Decryptor Mini and to create a profile and password.

A Keyline logo is automatically installed on your PC, phone or tablet screen,  Clicking on the icon in the future will start the cloning process.  No outside power is required to operate the 884 Decryptor Mini. Power is obtained from the USB port.  An internet connection is required during transponder programming.

Programming

Transponder-equipped vehicles using fixed codes, such as vehicles using Keyline blanks with ending designations of '-PT5', are programmed using a simple two-step procedure.  After starting the 884 Decryptor Mini, a green light indicates that the machine is ready.  A message on the phone, tablet or PC screen will show "insert original key."  Insert the original key into the antenna reading area. Red flashing lights on the cloner indicate that the machine is working. When red lights stop blinking, that particlular step is complete. Information contained on the original transponder will be displayed on the screen and a message will show what Keyline USA transponder must be used for cloning.  Insert the required Keyline transponder into the circular antenna area. Red lights will again begin blinking. When the cloning is complete, the red lights wwill stop blinking and the key is ready for use.

Original keys using Philips Crypto or Megamos Crypto technology require additional steps.  A message on the phone, tablet or PC screen will show "insert original key".  Insert the original key into the antenna reading area. Red flashing lights on the cloner indicate that the machine is working. When red lights stop blinking that particlular step is complete.  The screen will display "insert key blank".  The cloner will then read the new key blank in preparation for the sniff.

Next, take the new key blank to the vehicle. Sit in the driver’s seat and fasten the seat belt.  Insert the new key into the ignition and turn the ignition 'on' a number of times as was indicated on the phone, tablet or PC screen.  Remove the key from the ignition between each try. The sniff reading is now complete.

Finally, again insert the new key blank in the 884 Decryptor Mini . The sniff reading is being analyzed.  When indicated on the screen, remove the analyzed key and insert the original key into the antenna area.  The 884 Decryptor Mini uses the sniff information and information from the original key to make the final programming for the new duplicate key.  Ater the calculations are completed, the screen will request the new key to be inserted again. After a few moments the programming is complete and the new key has been cloned.  Some VAG/Megamos Crypto keys may require a TKM starter kit. Contact Keyline USA for details.
